That should point .tpl to the WebDNA engine. Search for all entries with webdna or webcatalog. There will be one or two that refer to webcatalog.so. These install the module on apache start up (or permit it to dynamically load). Then there is a section of directives that tell apache what files to let webdna parse and/or what files apache should never server, e.g. .db, anything in the Orders or Shopping Cart directories. Make sure to turn off the apache that is installed by default. If only one version of apache is running, WebDNA should be able to serve it. I do not think WebDNA will serve more than one running instance of apache likely due to licensing concerns. I try to work from a backup of httpd.conf. It is too easy to mess that file up. -----Original Message----- From: Kenneth Grome Sent: Wed, 27 Jul 2005 12:25:47 +0800 To: "WebDNA Talk" Subject: Install WebDNA 6.0 into MAMP/Apache 2.0 on OS X ... For months I've been using Apache, PHP, MySQL and WebDNA together on my iMac G5 desktop computer. Apache and PHP were pre-installed by Apple so all I had to do was turn them on. Yesterday PHP crapped out on me for some unknown reason, and in my efforts to see if the problem was in Apache's httpd.conf file I apparently messed up that file too, so now the default Apache server won't run either. Therefore I downloaded and installed MAMP (acronym for Macintosh - Apache - MySQP - PHP). MAMP is a very simple application that installs and runs Apache, MySQL and PHP in a separate folder. The great thing about MAMP is that it took less that two minutes before all my PHP/MySQL sites working again locally. The bad thing about using MAMP with WebDNA is that the WebDNA installer will NOT install it into the cgi-bin folder that's in the new MAMP/Apache folder -- because the WebDNA Apache OS X installer does NOT let me choose where to install it -- instead it assumes I want to install in the default Apache location. It would be nice if this installer (or some other WebDNA installer) would let me choose the proper cgi-bin installation folder, but this installer does not, so here's my question... Does anyone know if there's a "generic" WebDNA installer that will allow ME to choose which Apache cgi-bin folder I want to install WebDNA into? I assume that if I tell the WebDNA installer where the correct Apache cgi-bin folder is located, it will properly install WebDNA 6.x into that folder. If this is possible with one of the available WebDNA installers, it would be the simplest way for me to install WebDNA and get it running properly again. The other alternative is not quite so simple, but I'm sure I can handle it: Maybe someone can give me step-by-step instructions for manually installing WebDNA into MAMP. Along with this I will of course appreciate instructions for modifying any config files I might have to change to get WebDNA serving .tpl pages again ... Thanks!
