I have system based on a modified version of the WebDNA multi-group checker.  I also have it setup to auto-logout after a particular timespan of inactivity and have a bit of javascript that counts this time down on-screen.  The passwords are encrypted before being stored.

If you want the code let me know - I wouldn't mind someone else checking that it is secure ;-)
