This is a frequent issue with single checkboxes, too. Simply put a hidden form field with a blank value AFTER = the optional checkbox and it will work fine. This way, if people uncheck the checkbox (causing it to not be submitted = at all), a blank is submitted for that field, wiping out the prior choice.=A0

If the blank hidden value is AFTER the other one, it will not have an effect on a stri= ng of [formvariables] submitted; the first one will be written to the db, and anything later ignored.

Same principle works for variables displayed on the page t= oo; first one takes precedence. Just put the hidden variable at the end of your form.
