The symptom >you describe will definitely appear when Resourcerer or even SimpleText >has the file open that you are trying to [include].Yes, it surprises me too! Okay, here's what I did:First of all, I use Tex-Edit Plus (instead of SimpleText) to create all my html files. Tex-Edit Plus doesn't keep files open like SimpleText does. Instead, it simply opens and loads files into memory - then it immmediately closes those files, making them available to other apps like web browsers and web servers, for example. That's the main reason I switched from SimpleText to Tex-Edit Plus in the first place ... because Tex-Edit Plus eliminates my html files from *not* being available ...Okay, after I created my [include] file in Tex-Edit Plus, it had a creator code of TBB6 - that's the creator code for Tex-Edit Plus files. The [include] worked fine while the creator code was TBB6.But as soon as I change that creator code to WWW‡, that change apparently prevents the file from being included in the WebCat2 template, so I get a blank page.I thought this was weird, because I always imagined that WebCat2 would simply read the text of the file named in the [include] tag, and then it would put that text into the template in place of the [include] tag. I have no idea why the creator code should have any affect on this process at all, do you?WebCat2 automatically changes the creator code of every .db file it opens to WWW‡, so it seems like it ought to be able to read a WWW‡ file into an [include], doesn't it? :) Sincerely, Ken ------------------------------------ To leave this talk list send an email to macjordomo@smithmicro.com with BODY unsubscribe WebDNA-Talk ------------------------------------ Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
