It looks pretty interesting to>me, but I'm not sure how many cases there that need WebCatalog output sent>to other plugins. The only other plug-in people I have seen talking about this are the maxiumpeople. Don't know enough about it yet to make a true comment. But if itallows 2 plugins to talk to one another vs the backending of one to anotherwhich I experienced as being a page serving speed issue (tried backendingthe webcatalog2.0 acgi from netcloak for a couple of days about a monthago) then I might be interested. Might is a very very little word in thatstatement. Because as each day proceeds I find I can do many things justas good or even better in Webcatalog then using other plug-ins. Don't needa Guestbook plug-in anymore, and soon will drop netfinder. Even figuredaway around droping netcloak and thier tag
and using it on apage outside my download area,ie:click here to download this [xxx]k file.Where [xxx] is from a look-up and the data base gets updated from a[listfiles] when I add or change files in a download directory. Granted Ihave to run a template to update that data. Minor issue. We feel thatloading up our server with tons of plugins is asking for trouble. Less toworry about, less Ram issues, less worrying about plug-in conflicts(ie:recent chatter on webstar-talk were someone claimed there was aconflict between flexmail and siteedit-pro). My job is to worry aboutcontent not keeping the server running. Never ever once did 1.6 crash myserver. And I know 2.0 gold will not either. Wish I could say that aboutsome other stuff I used to use. So do I care..today no..tomarrow if somewild application is created that I haven't dreamed I need yet then maybe. You might want to look at this question differently. In the marketing ofyour product would it be a feature that could in the future make or break asale vs your competition if you did or didn't have it. We support PIXOand all your netcloak tags will still function even on .tmpl pages Ifthat is what PIXO does? Or in the near term is it some feature or benefityou could claim that your competition does not have that could close asale.===============================================Gary Richter PanaVise Products, Inc. 7540 Colbert Dr. Reno, Nevada 89511 Ph: 702.850.2900 Fx: 702.850.2929 Email: grichter@panavise.com http://www.panavise.com===============================================
