Right, server version will require a root access to the server or the VPS. WebDNA FastCGI (7) would work on your server only if the hosting provider has previously setup the proper modules to allow general FastCGI to run on his server. (it could be php.fcgi or any other FastCGI). It is easy to do and is generally setup by default.

However, a VPS is not more expensive than a regular hosting and will give you the freedom to choose between both WebDNA versions.

I've been running version 6 on CentOS for quite a while. You should not have any trouble. I have not tried version 7.

Hi
I have a client that doesn't want to change his website host.
They are using Linux CentOS but don't want to make any special install for Webdna.
They have a CGI-BIN folder in which stuff like Perl can run.
Would it be possible to get Webdna 6 or 7 run on such servers?
