Can someone out there > help me out of our dilemma? Are your people editing the FmPro data live on a server or pulling it off making the changes then putting it back on?If they are editing live then change and use webcat templates to change the data with the [replace] command. If they are editing remotely then keep using FMpro and just export the data base from FMpro and via sneaker net, ftp, apple share put it back on the server, after doing a flushdatabase. We use FMpro offline here to edit and make files and update things that the sales or engineering department wants to make wholesale changes to and not effect the webserver (webcatalog data) until they are ready with it. Or you could copy the old data to a new data base name edit it live on the server and when ready replace out the current webcat data base with the new one. Or you could write some dna that would merge or replace the old records with the new records. Now if you from some reason want to use FMpro and webcat concurrently on the same server and access the same data base and not use webcat to do that chore...then that is over my head and Jay, Grant or Ken might have a clue on how to do this. But if we edit live we use webcat and a client browser. Remotely we use Fmpro. There are a zillion options open to you if I understand your question, just get fmpro off your server, it is slow and hogs processor time :) Do it with WebCat on the server!!!=============================================== Gary Richter PanaVise Products, Inc. 7540 Colbert Dr. Reno, Nevada 89511 Ph: 702.850.2900 Fx: 702.850.2929 Email: grichter@panavise.com http://www.panavise.com =============================================== Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
