Will it catch correctly old browsers like Netscape 1 and MSExplorer 1?Another solution I am trying now is to asume everyone is a PC, and let the Mac try to be compatible. I have placed:
on all my pages, and I have stored the data in the databases as PC native accented characters. On Explorer 2 running on Windows NT, it works, since everything defaults to PC stuff. On Netscape 4 on the Mac, it also works. Aparently Netscape 4 is smart enough to do the conversions automatically. The question is now to try other older Mac browsers to see if they all handle the charset=iso-8859-1 correctly. Also, what about unix, sun?Does anyone have any experience in these matters? Thanks for your help,Charles_______________________________________________________________Institut Balear de Comunicacions, S.L.Gremio Tejedores 22, 107009 Palma de Mallorca, Spain_____________________________________________Tel: +34 971.43.12.77Fax: +34 971.43.08.18 E-mail: ckefauver@ibacom.esURL: http://www.ibacom.es/_____________________________________________Public PGP signature (Clave publica PGP):http://www.ibacom.es/PGP/kefauver.txt_______________________________________________________________
