Jobs that took me 3 months to do a year ago, I can do in 3 days now, but one of the others here coding webDNA may take 3 times as long to do it.Many WebCat projects we create are built with duplication in mind. It may take 3 hours to duplicate (customize) a specific pre-exisiting database for a client, but we quote it as if it was being created from scratch. For the client, it is still far cheaper than having it done in SQL and clients are always dazzled by the speed.Reasonable is whatever price beats the competition that the client will still pay for. But beating the competition's price can put you out of business too. You can't lose money on projects just to stay busy. You won't be busy very long. If we can show added value for our larger quote, clients will choose us to do their project. Our projects have ranged in price and size from $600 for an events database to $60,000 for multiple databases for a manufacturer and their distributors. All of our databases are always part of websites that we also create. Our origins as a CD-rom studio gives us the unique ability to offer design, animation, and various other interactive and multimedia capabilities in addition to database features. We have 5 people with varying levels of skill with webDNA. We've created and manage several stores for a wide variety of products, but the bulk of our database work is for information such as real estate, newsletters, magazines, distributers, events calendars, etc.Hope this helps, Paul>I'd like to start a thread regarding what is the *normal* hourly rate to >charge for WebDNA programming?
