There are just no tags to get at it. I have been a long time user of Netforms for discussion forums. With Webcatalog there is a huge potential for much more advanced forums. This is not the case however if I cannot even create a list of vulgarities to be swapped. While many may find the issue minor, many of my customers wouldn't even talk about forums until they had the ability to 'filter' postings to limit their liability. Ken, I was not aware that this had been a long-standing request by you. Knowing that now makes it much more difficult to accept the following statement: >> I was afraid of this :( With the 3.0 context, what would be ideal is >>a conversion.db that would allow for more then single characters in the >>from field. Then by simply using the conversion.db I could have unique >>conversions per template. It seems that the convertcharacters is exactly >>what i need except for the single character limit. >> >> Any hope for this? > >Not in the first release. It's a pretty complex thing to do, and we >wouldn't want to do it halfway. So, now that I am a little more informed I would like to ask where there really hairy issue is expanding the conversion.db concept to find/replace strings between a \r and the 1st \t. It just seems that currently the code searches/replaces using: \r(Single character) not bothering to continue to the \t to find a matching string. Certainly the concept of nesting dozens of tags instead of one [convertchar some.db] is not only unattractive from a programming perspective, but would be unacceptable from a performance tact. Some real details would be appreciated. Alex Alexander J.
