I'm not surprised you're having problems ...I've been asking about a 'secret' undocumented preference (Grant called it the TemplateCacheSize preference) for more than a week, yet no one at PCS has bothered to reply ... :(I have several unanswered questions about template caching. For example:1- What is that default value of the TemplateCacheSize preference when that pref does not appear in the WebCatalog Prefs file?2- Why doesn't that pref appear in the WebCatalog Prefs file? Is this a feature that we are not supposed to know about for some reason?3- Is there a practical upper limit to the value of this TemplateCacheSize preference?4- Does it really reflect the *number* of files allowed to be cached, and not the size limit of the cache itself?5- What's the name of the preference Grant is referring to in the following quote:... when you set the preference for #seconds between checks, it will hit the disk less often. This means you don't have to explicitly flush the cache in order to get the latest files; you only have to wait a couple seconds. It's still really fast, because if you get 200 hits/second then it can serve up hundreds of templates with zero disk hits, and then do a mod date check just once every few seconds or so.Sincerely, Ken Grome 808-737-6499 WebDNA Solutions mailto:ken@webdna.net http://www.webdna.net Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
