Yes, I understood this from the beginning (regarding options). While I agree that it would be complicated & time consuming in great degrees to write and replicate the functionality, I hope my point was clear. With a purchase price of 3,400+ for the package, and an upgrade price of $900 from the 2.x version, the concept of this extended pricing to bypass programmed in limitations, thus allowing parallel directory use of the same templates is still unacceptable. Let me say that I am very aware of the concept that I or anyone can feel free to write whatever templates we wish to replicate or expand upon stuff that Pacific Coast sells. This does not change the fact that there is, and should be, certain expectations of what is delivered with the product unhindered. Personally, I haven't had much trouble with the manual. I prefer a syntax only layout (much like the Director Lingo Dictionary). I would have taken the same exception long ago if I was ever faced with a limiting version of WebCat that allows 25 databases open for one serial number, and an additional 25 for more money and so on. I don't think anyone here would argue that a pricing scheme for a certain number of open databases would be offensive to many people, which is practically what we are talking about with the WebMerchant pay by the store scenario. So I guess I am just back into my system of building systems to bypass the limitation and unfortunate pricing scheme. Lastly, the points I bring up here regarding this are selfishly motivated. I wish to see PC thrive and not lose customers (or potential) customers over and over. I am gambling that they will be around for a while thus supporting themselves and supporting the tremendous investment we have made using their software. Alexander J.
