This stores the actual files outside of the normal directories; when a purchase takes place, the file is copied to a delivery directory, with a random filename, and prints the URL to download the file on the download page. The copy is then purged after 24 hours. This is specifically designed for your needs. See Chapter 5 in the WebMerchant_Manual.pdf which is available at: ftp://ftp.isd.smithmicro.com/webcatalog/webmerchant_manual.pdfHope this helpsJohn Peacock ____________________Reply Separator____________________ Subject: Re: Encrypted links ... Anyway... what I had originally intended with this thread was a way to protect content from being manually taken. For example I have a directory /greatmusic/ and protect the index.tpl page there using WebCat' spage protection. Fine. Wouldn't a more cunning user simpy be able to manually enter ./greatmusic/1.mp3, ./greatmusic/2.mp3 thereby bypassing any attempts I make to guard that music from being downloaded without paying for it?? Aside from setting up an apache realm type of thing is there a better way to protect from manually entered URLs? Forgive me if there is an obvious answer here.. still pretty new to this.
