Great piece of software, unfortunately it only runs on a PC but we had plenty of those laying around. One nice feature of ProtoFax is that it can parse an html formatted email into a fax document. So we just use sendmail to send out a completed thankyou.tpl (or any other final receipt document) in html to the fax server and Protofax does all the hard work. One nice advantage is that the document the customer gets via fax looks like the one they saw on-screen so there's some consistency without alot of work on my part.A few other nice features about this setup: You can setup multiple fax servers in different locations and locate them near to your recipients to cut down on long distance fees. You can use one fax server to be a corporate-wide remote fax sender. We have agents working remotely so even in the field they are able to send faxes via a web interface.
