Seems limiting, but it is the only standard way. I suppose you could see if there is a Javascript command that allows you to change the internal username/password in the browser, but somehow I doubt even Javascript is that insecure.John Peacock ____________________Reply Separator____________________ Subject: Setting user/password with a form. Author: (WebCatalog Talk) Date: 3/20/00 10:51 AMHi all,I'd like to set the Username and password using a form instead of the realm dialog. I can't seem to find anything in HTML4 literature anywhere. Is this a task that Webcatalog can handle? I setup a (custom)users.db and when I use the form to access a page it works fine, but I want all my pages to be protected. After the first page all proceeding pages give me a unknown user.To get around this i set a cookie to with username and password, but this seems to be a work around and is not functioning as well as I would like. There must be a way to set the username and password using a form so the browser remembers it.Any suggestions would be appreciated.------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
