texte = Use SQL for your DBs.Shopping carts files are a little harder... You could harvest them from eachserver using FTP(my choice) or rewrite the shopping cart model to use SQL DBto store carts the carts. Then the whole WebMerchant stuff will have to beredone to work with this now model. If you do this then the data can be read from a SQL server from multiple webservers. Of course then the SQL server becomes your weak link, so you needredundant SQL servers.James Howarth **********************************Smith Micro, Internet Solutions Div | eCommerce (WebCatalog)16855 West Bernardo Drive | Software & Site DevelopmentSuite 380 |San Diego, CA 92127 |858.675.1106 | http://www.smithmicro.com/isd858.675.0372 (fax)-----Original Message-----From: WebCatalog Talk [mailto:WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com]OnBehalf Of Adam O'ConnorSent: Wednesday, July 26, 2000 6:40 PMTo: WebCatalog TalkSubject: Re: The evolved Server Configuration Queston> >So is there a way around this? You see my last questionbecame as a result of the question beforehand. I really would like to havemore than one machine processing the data.So far I have yet to hear of these capabilities. The server administratorand I are stumped. There has to be a way to run 2 servers at the same timesharing the load, yet perfom independantly if needed.-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
