I have posted numerous times how I do discounts using another lineitem; this method works very well and then the built-in subtotal works fine. When you add an item that requires a discount, you have two choices:1) change the price calculation in the formulas.db to reduce the price by the discounted amount. The formula for price can be arbitrarily complex and can do [lookup]'s to several other tables to get the correct values.2) Add a second line item, with a negative price, that corresponds to the discounted amount. This is nice because then you can show both the original list price and the discount amount on the page. I usually do this only with an order level discount (so there is only 1 extra line item) but it is possible to do it at the item level too.Try to do a search on the archives (if they are up) for discussions on discounts and see how that goes. Otherwise, I'll see if I still have one of the old messages I can repost.John Peacock -- John Peacock Director of Information Research and Technology Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group 4720 Boston Way Lanham, MD 20706 301-459-3366 x.5010 fax 301-429-5747------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
