texte = Just come across a worrying issue. We were called by a customer who, whilst proceeding through the invoicepage, had found that there was someone else's address details alreadyentered in the form. Our invoice form will automatically populate the details from the shoppingcart file if they have already been entered, thus allowing the customer toreturn to the store to add any items they'd forgotten about, without havingto worry about re-entering their address details. Our belief has always been that due to the cart ID been totally unique, there would be no-way two people could get the same cart, therefore if wouldbe impossible for anyone to see anyone else's details. Now the details the customer saw, belonged to a customer who had entered hisname and address in the invoice, but had abandoned his cart, thus leavingthe shoppingcart file to exist for 24 hours. Then the second customer hadcome along, managed to get the same Cart ID, and thus had seen the firstcustomers address details when he went into the invoice page.Checking our weblogs for this day, we discovered that 15 different peoplehad been issued the same Cart ID.Our initial thought, was that someone had linked to our site, and hadincluded a Cart ID in the link, this proved not to be the case as all usershad come directly into the site. The one thing that does connect them though, is that they all used the sameISP - we are therefore assuming that this problem was connected to a cacheserver.Has anyone come across this problem before?Any idea why it's happening?Any solutions short of running a database tracking all issued cart ID's?Thanks.-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
