I even set the browser prefs for Unicode and it still displays gibberish.IE5 Mac has no probs with Unicode regardless if the prefs are set for Unicode or not.Using iso- 8859-1 as the charset on the page as well as in the browser prefs will display the page correctly on both browsers, regardless of their prefs.Setting the charset via SetMIMEHeader makes no difference in the page's appearance and causes no screen refresh on either browser, regardless of the charset. So, it seems that with my setup, the best way to go is with iso-8859-1 charset implemented either by SetMIMEHeader or by META Tag.I assume that browsers are set to a default charset depending on the country in which they are used. English language countries are probably set to iso-8859-1. I have no idea how the defaults are set for browsers in other languages.I also have a standard that may or may not have some effect on the charset, but I haven't tested that yet. I use that only because I read that some search engines use that tag to determine the language used on a page.Non-English characters may or may not display properly in a db depending on the font used to view it.Glenn------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
