texte = Define classes & functions, utilize multi-dimensional arrays, regularexpressions, variable concatenation, etc. The real advantage lies in the use of the mySQL database because withmySQL, YOU DON'T LOSE DATA WHEN WEBCATALOG CRASHES!! In my experience, when (not if) WebCatalog crashes, data can be lost/corrupted becauseWebCatalog has not/can not write it to disk in time.PHP & mySQL are extremely robust and stable. It took me several yearsto finally get off of my WebCatalog is the greatest stuff since slicedbread rant and go with the PHP/mySQL combination and I'm soooooo happyI finally did. There's one other advantage. THEY'RE FREE and they ACTUALLY WORK!Working with WebCatalog was a demoralizing experience! I still lovemonitoring the list though. Brings back a lot memories.Best Regards,-Bob Mc. >>> nitai@computeroil.com 08/19/02 09:17AM >>>On 19.8.2002 3:06 PM, Josh Knauer

If WebDNAwouldbe a no future tool and coding would be a pain in the a***, then Icouldunderstand your comment, but what are the main reasons to switch?Better asked, what CANT you do with WebDNA which is better with PHP?SincerelyNitai AventaggiatoCEO-- Tools to energize your businessContent Management & eBusiness SystemsComputerOil GmbH http://computeroil.com/ Hauptstrasse 12 info@computeroil.com 8252 Schlatt/SwitzerlandTel: +41 (0)52 654 15 55Fax: +41 (0)52 654 15 59-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .To unsubscribe, E-mail to: To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail toWeb Archive of this list is at: http://search.smithmicro.com/-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .To unsubscribe, E-mail to: To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to Web Archive of this list is at: http://search.smithmicro.com/
