If you have a number of people coming in at once, they may get a server busy message which would look pretty poor. At my other work site, we run a G3 server with 200Mb RAM allocated to WebStar/WebCatalog and I've set the Max Connections to 200. The most it's ever got up to is about 100.Also, if you have the RAM I can't see any good reason for not upping the cache size and the file size. Again this could depend on how often the static files are changed and whether you have other people using the server via FTP apart from you who want to see their docs update more quickly. If it's just you and you are physically next to the server, then use WebStar's Flush Cache command and have higher cache and autoflush values.Regards, Tim -- Tim Robinson IDFK Web Developments tim@idfk.com.au 114a/40 Yeo Street Neutral Bay 2089 Australia Phone +612 9908 2134 Fax +612 9908 4837> From: Kenneth Grome > Reply-To: (WebCatalog Talk) > Date: Wed, 13 Nov 2002 11:13:17 > To: (WebCatalog Talk) > Subject: Off-Topic: Optimal WebSTAR settings for WebDNA plugin v4.5 > > I have WebSTAR 4.2 running on MacOS 8.6, and I'm using the WebDNA 4.5 > plugin.
