texte = Thanks for all of your responses...So far I have been getting pretty grim responses from everyone on here, at our shop they have been asking customers if they have been having problems to which we have had a mixed response.I am about to upload a new front page to the site which in response to one of the posts *is* a lot less image heavy so that should dramatically help the loading times.I have been on line to the people that provide the Live Help facility for our site. They actually host the applet so this could be one thing affecting speed of loading, on speaking to them they actually gave me a new version of the code that apparently was written 2 days ago which should also help (If I believe the hype). On trying their demo we never experienced any problems with their product so I am hoping this is merely a teething problem.I will post again with the new front page so that you can compare the load times with the old page. Lets hope the grim reaper of web pages doesn't rear his head for the new page ;)CheersAlan ------------------------------ http://www.streethreds.com P.S. I have never gotten round to checking up on the whole cookies thing to show an advert only once. Believe me, there is nothing I would like more and I *am* going to look into it. I have found an alternative method which I am going to implement in the short term however I would argue that the pop ups have worked quite well, I do see where you are all coming from though.on 5/12/02 10:46 am, Alan White at alan@streethreds.com wrote:> Hi Everyone > > I was wondering if you lot might be able to give me some feedback on the > load time for our site http://www.streethreds.com as we have just > implemented a Java live help thing to our site and have noticed a change > in loading time even with dsl. > > Any feedback would be appreciated, especially from 56k users as I am a > little concerned they might be getting the rough end of the stick here. > > TIA > > Alan White > ------------------------------ > http://www.streethreds.com > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------- > This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to > the mailing list . > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: > To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to > > Web Archive of this list is at: http://webdna.smithmicro.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
