texte = WebDNA 5.0 will include an Integrated Development Environment, that will beincluded in all 'editions', including Developer Edition. You will have toconsider this a bit of a version 1.0 of an IDE, i.e., a good start withroom to grow. It is a server-based editing environment with four 'frames':an 'editor' frame that supports an HTML Java editor with highlighted WebDNAtags; a 'preview' page showing the parsed and rendered result; a 'chat'frame (that can be un-docked and hidden for the chat-challenged); and adatabase editing frame (also can be un-docked and hidden).Included in this IDE are working tutorials for all of the 5.0 engineextensions, including Function, Scope, Array, Table, XML contexts, XSLTcontexts, and all 'SandBox' features. The useful aspect of these tutorialsis that they show you the sample code in the edit frame, and the renderedresult in the preview frame.Gary, I appreciate your input on some of the other extended features youmention for an editing environment ... we'll have to look at some of thosefor a 5.1 ... we're fast approaching functional freeze.Phil B.-----Original Message-----From: Gary KrockoverTo: WebDNA TalkSent: 2/11/03 6:48 PMSubject: Re: Runtime version ...And also a WebDNA Studio ala ColdFusion Studio, for editing templateswithpretty command/context highlighting. Actually, this would be prettynice,if merged with the http server for viewing the page as it would actuallybeparsed on a real server for development purposes. Nothing you can't doalready, but what if the Studio would show you hierarchical trees foryoursite under development, a sitemap with file dependencies. Aninformationscreen would show you what databases a template uses and the location ofthedatabase (globals, root directory of the site, etc) and the code fromincludes that are on the page:----------------------------------[!]From header.inc[/!]some html code, or whatever is in your header.inc.[!]End include, header.inc[/!]Rest of the code from the parent page.....----------------------------------And of course the Studio would have full debugging features, showingruntimeerrors, & database field naming inconsistencies, etc.Better stop it now, I'm liable to give myself a headache....GK----- Original Message -----From: Kenneth Grome
