I wasso pi**ed when we fell into osirusofts db (a couple years ago), but after *learning* aboutopen relays, and fixing ours (we passed most of the checks such as ORDB etc. just notosirusofts) I came to respect the work that this one (controversial) person had done to lessen the abilityfor spammers. Now, spamcop... I recently started filtering using spamcops db as a test. I went from receivingabout 100 pieces of spam per day to maybe 10 or 15. I have checked the error logs everyday and have yet to find one invalid mail... (there are some that are difficult to tell if valid ornot). After a week and half of using there filter I haven't received one notice from any ofour approximately 50? active daily users that a client (or someone) has been rejected.the ORDB.org filtering picks up maybe 2 or 3 a day.I have heard the horror stories but have been suggested that it is not difficult to get out of theredatabase... (one might have a different opinion?) So far the benefits far out way any negativesthat I've heard about or seen. This is just my experience so far and I imagine it could change. Man I like not having to delete many emails that my local spam folder doesn't catch!Donovan>>>>Alex J McCombie New World Media>Chief Information Officer Drawer 607>800/724.8973 Fair Haven, NY 13064>Alex@NewWorldMedia.com http://OurClients.com>>Interface Designer WebDNA Programmer Database Designer>> >-- * *|\ /||/========================================\|||---------* DONOVAN D.
