texte = Tables are not a global application resource (like the databases). Tablesare private for each thread. So if you have 500 simultaneous requests to atemplate that uses one table, then you could have as many as 500 tables inmemory at a time.We are considering adding global data objects to the WebDNA engine, so thatyou could persist TABLE, TEXT, MATH, XML, etc...objects indefinitely. Butthere will be the additional overhead of controlling synchronized access tothe global objects (much like we have with native WebDNA databases). If you are generating TABLES from multiple queries against databases thatremain unchanged for a length of time, you may be better off creatingtemporary databases. Then multiple connections can 'share' access to thetemporary db resources.-----Original Message-----From: Larry Hewitt [mailto:larryh@hewittco.com]Sent: Monday, October 27, 2003 5:05 PMTo: WebDNA TalkSubject: Question on TABLESDoes a TABLE generation create new space in RAM for all of the table data, or is it simply pointers to data in the existing RAM.The reason: if we have 500 simultaneous connections (not uncommon in our election products), generating hundreds of tables, are we going to run the RAM requirements through the roof and create performance issues?Larry Hewitt360.807.1100 OFFICEHCO, LLC360.807.1103 FAX1133 Kresky NE #106360.508.6231 CELLCentralia, WA 98531larryh@hewittco.comwww.hewittco.comwww.votewashington.org-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
