Re: What Country
This WebDNA talk-list message is from 2004
It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 56861
interpreted = N
texte = It seems the only way to tell (without user input) would be bythe I.P. number. I used to play with a cool traceroute app forthe classic mac called "whatroute". It had a graphical frontend that would give an approximate location.. don't know howaccurate it was though. There might be new (maybe scriptable)apps out there???A quick search on versiontracker found an OSX version:http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17101Don't know if it would be usefull or not though.DonovanStuart Tremain wrote:> Does anyone have a foolproof way of determining the country that a > visitor to a website is viewing it from ?> > Regards> > Stuart Tremain> idfk web developments> 114a/40 yeo street neutral bay 2089 australia> t +612 9908 2134> f +612 9908 4837-- =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
