texte = I am using a preferences db for a lot of my sites these days. I search the DB for the particular site at the top of the page, then set text variables (using [listfields] for a number of things, like colors, site contact info, whether they have access to different things, etc -- maybe 40 or 50 prefs. I try to keep things lean and mean, so I'm wondering if this is a drag on the system to set a bunch of stuff at the top of a page, when much of the time a lot of it will go unused.
