Not sure what platform you are on, but if you have the tools to modify the mime information your particular browser sends using some application editor, you can key a phrase in one of the mime fields and then key off it on every single page. We used that a long time ago and it worked very very well. Since then we simply check a particular IP number listing against our "admin' list and show other option based on the static IP.
