If I was to go down that track, I would hire developers and sit at the top of the heap and whip them until the work was completed :) I've been using WebDNA now for about 8 years and am not very open to learning a new language. The big problems to me are: 1. I can't hire WebDNA developers, there aren't any. 2. When I need to employ new people I also need to teach them WebDNA 3. Prospective clients want to know what happens if I get hit by a truck or they want to go somewhere else, they have just spent $60K + on a website that only one person knows how to code. 4. PHP is taught in University & Technical colleges around the world, these students don't even know what WebDNA is. But in answer to your question, it wouldn't matter to me if WebDNA was abandoned, maybe if it was, it would be picked up by someone prepared to distribute it as open source :) Quite frankly, I don't know how SM can justify continuing development of it as I doubt that they sell enough copies to pay their phone bill. For my purposes WedDNA does everything I want/need, a new version would have to include some whizz bang for me to upgrade. I would love to be able to place a wanted ad and have a selection of developers that are competent in WebDNA - sure would take a load off my shoulders, I may even get to go fishing !
