texte = Can anyone explain the interaction between the SMTP server, Emailer and WebDNA? I am running Mac OS X Server 10.4.6 and WebDNA 4.5.1. If I execute a [sendmail] context, the message gets created, placed in the EMailFolder, and then moved to the EMailCompleted folder a few moments later. I have my WebDNA Email Prefs set to "localhost" for the SMTP server and have left the folder names at their default values. The odd thing is that I do not have any SMTP service running, yet the message gets moved to the EMailCompleted folder. I have not installed sendmail and I have OS X Server mail services turned off. The email message, incidentally, does not get delivered. If I turn on the OS X SMTP mail services, the behavior is exactly the same (message gets moved, but not delivered). If I set the WebDNA email prefs to "none" instead of "localhost", the email message stays in the EMailFolder folder. Does Emailer move the email message between the folders or does the SMTP server do this? If the SMTP server is doing this, how does the SMTP server know where to look for the messages to process? If Emailer is doing it, why does it move the message to the EMailCompleted folder when the SMTP Server is not running? I'd appreciate any explanations people could provide on this subject.
