Yes, there is other ways to trouble shoot, but I haven't found very good ones for WebDNA. Maybe someone else has some ideas... but I've found that if you monitor your processes, top -u apache (or other means) and if you see the processes start to build up (heading for a stall), you can run an strace on the webcatalog process: strace -fv -p
-o trace.txt replace with the actual process ID #. You will only want to run this for a short time probably. It can potentially produce a 5 MB file within seconds.
