texte = To clarify to the talk list regarding WSC's goals with Linux support: Most of the distributions of Linux fall into the "Debian" or "RPM-based" branches. WSC's goal is to support the most popular distributions of these two "branches", which, in the end, should provide functionality on a wide range of linux OS's. Since there are so many distributions, WSC of course can't guarantee functionality on all of them. So, what we focus on is the main ones.. specifically LTS builds. For example, Ubuntu 12.0.4 Server is an LTS OS, meaning it is guaranteed to have a 5-year support cycle. Our two main testing platforms for the yet-to-be-released products are currently Ubuntu, specifically the LTS build, and CentOS 6.2 and 6.3. I should note that WSC will be holding off on a new WebDNA Server build for the latest Mac OS X OS, simply because WebDNA 6.2 still runs fine on it. OS X will still be supported, but a new WebDNA Server build will be down the road a bit. For Linux OS suggestions regarding WebDNA 6.2, please see the README file included in the download. So, whether you choose CentOS or Ubuntu with the up-coming releases is up to you. Both will be supported in both 64 and 32 bit modes. Hope this helps.
