texte = I have a customer who is extremely excited about MS site server. Needless to say, he's non-technical.The MS site is long on hype and hazy on specifics, but site server seems to be a scripting tool for database integration and site server 'e-commerce edition' seems to provide credit card functions. They require NT, IIS, and possibly MS SQL server. The licensing arrangement is shocking, requiring purchase of licenses for internet access, either by the seat, groups of 50, or an unlimited license who's price is not provided. The one and fifty seat versions were about $4k and $5k, not including the rest of the software.I have a hunch that it is probably tougher to deal with than WebCat, and may not provide the same functionality. I hope that I can present this message to this non-technical customer before they embark on an expensive, time-consuming, fruitless disaster. I'm about to wave farewell to the entire MIS Donner party of this firm.Does anyone have experience with Site Server? Can PCS supply some comparison info? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Pat Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
