If I am wrong - can you explain the >involved steps from request to page-delivery with WebCat?Yes, but remember the one important thing: you've instructed the web server to send all .tpl files thru WebCatalog. So we have no choice but to do what you asked. We've done our best to speed things along if there's really nothing for us to do with the page. If you really want the pages to only go thru the squid cache, then don't suffix-map them to WebCatalog! Also, do some timing tests before you assume that there's something wrong with our caching mechanism. You may find negligible differences. I'm not saying we're a squid killer, but hey, you might be barking up the wrong tree. We have a rather nice smart-cache mechanism that prevents us from hitting the disk as often as some other techniques. I'm not going to talk in detail about them here, because this is not the forum, plus we like to keep *some* secrets.Technical Support | ==== eCommerce and Beyond ==== Pacific Coast Software | WebCatalog, WebMerchant, 11770 Bernardo Plaza Court | SiteEdit Pro, PhotoMaster, San Diego, CA 92128 | Typhoon 619/675-1106 Fax: 619/675-0372 | http://www.smithmicro.com/ Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
