Instead, write your search parameters manually in your> shownext links.> Or you can use [searchstring] AS IT WAS DESIGNED and not worry about it. [searchstring] returns EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO DO THE SEARCH. That includes start= and max= if you included them in the original search because you were going to be using [shownext]. It also includes command=search (which is what most people forget). If you have a well formed search, on any subsequent page all you need to have is: [ShowNext position=begin&method=post&max=1]
[/ShowNext]or [ShowNext position=begin&max=1]
Show items[start]-[end] [/ShowNext]and the [searchstring] includes EVERYTHING else you need. The examplein the docs incorrectly includes command=search which will cause the WebCat server process to eventually run out of buffer and crash. PLEASE SMSI - FIX THIS LONGSTANDING DOCUMENTATION PROBLEM!!!!!But the context does work (I use that first example above on all of my sites)! But don't let me bully you - try it for yourself. Include a [shownext]on a page in a search context and just put the [searchstring] tag in there and look at the source text. Don't make it part of an href line, just put it there in an HTML comment. I prefer to see the method=post version because it is much more readable (IMO), but you don't need to do that to see what is there.John --John PeacockDirector of Information Research and TechnologyRowman & Littlefield Publishing Group4720 Boston WayLanham, MD 20706301-459-3366 x.5010fax 301-429-5747-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
