It alsoYes, I agree with that, and in fact, that is just what I had on _all_ of my shownext links; I never included the erroneous command=search, but had other completely unnecessary variables. Thing is, only a couple of my searches were NOT same-page contextual searches. With search contexts, the [searchstring] is redundant and wholly unnecessary. I've cleaned up those shownexts to simply href= [thisurl]?startat=[start], and sometimes a necessary variable brought in from the preceding page. It works great, looks great. Now I'm working on converting the couple of form-based searches into same-page contextual searches, as I find it a little tidier overall to have everything on one page.John, do you know anything about the length limitation of the resulting URL? This is something I've always been a little concerned about... the html books all talk about post vs. get and how there's a 256 char limitation on a URL. But some of these [searchstring]s can get way huge when a person chooses a dozen keywords in addition to the other search parameters that have to come through (one reason I'd like to change everything over to contexts]. I haven't noticed any problems, but maybe they're just undetectable in the logs.Terry-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
