If we were to offer them as unencrypted, it would essentially render them open-source, even if there were some License agreement for the source code ... I think history has shown that the honor system of adhering to license agreement text is not consistently affective without some form of enforcement mechanism. I think we would be open to ideas on how to make the Intranet templates a more 'open' platform for development while still retaining a real, enforceable mechanism to ensure that any deployment of an Intranet based upon them is dependent upon a purchased license for their use.Nothing new was added to the Intranet templates for 5.0 since we were focusing our manpower resources on other functionality areas. This is the same Intranet as was released back in October, though with the addition of the Calendar in 4.5.1. I'll be the first to admit that they don't currently support customization and extensibility by other third parties. So the other part of the discussion is ideas for enhancements to the Intranet to make it more extensible, i.e., things like the ability to add your own .inc templates to the administrative section for creating new 'tabs' based upon your own templates, having an unencrypted template of the baseline graphics so you could add your own functionality but with the same look/feel, then include it into the admin section, etc.I'd be happy to hear ideas from the community so we can look at what would fit into a plan for 5.1.Phil B.-----Original Message----- From: Rob [mailto:mmilists@sentrymail.net] Sent: Tuesday, April 08, 2003 3:39 PM To: WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com Subject: WebCat 5 Intranet QuestionOk, already have to build one of these and have a crazy question. Is there an easy way to decrypt these to make layout adjustments etc, or am I going to have to drink beer all night.....RegardsRob ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
