texte = Thanks John et al for your responses, I tried placing MIME headers in the .tpl page to replicate as closely as possible the headers in the plain .html page (I couldn't replicate the ETag). I tried all sorts of different MIME header combos including replicating the MIME headers from other pages, such as Smith-Micro's homepage (which does load successfully with NIS on and is a .tpl page!) No MIME header configuration I tried changed the problem, and believe me I tried. With NIS 2003 installed on a WinXP box, the .tpl page would not display in either IE6 or Netscape 7.1 when only security was turned on in NIS. It seems that WebCat is returning a stream of data to the Win client. For some reason NIS is blocking the browser from displaying the page. Pls note that this occurs when only the basic, non-configurable, "Security" option is turned on. This is the minimal setting and non-configurable. Ad Blocking - TURNED OFF Privacy Control - TURNED OFF Parental Control - TURNED OFF Personal Firewall - TURNED OFF Intrusion Detection - TURNED OFF Norton AntiSpam - TURNED OFF **** Security - TURNED ON **** As noted in my original post (appended), I've swapped .tpl and .html processing configs to rule out the filename extension as the source of the problem. Symantec and SM customer service are attempting to understand the issue. I'd very much appreciate others checking these pages using a similar config. Also, any other suggestions would be very welcome.
