's across a page rather then using spacer gifs. The particularly nice thing about CSS is that it makes sense in my mind. I can tell a div to move X number of pixels one way, and it does exactly that. I can use colors, borders, font styles, pretty much anything I want to manipulate a page. It loads very very fast in a browser, and you can use one style sheet for an entire site. The only problem I have run across with CSS is standardization with IE. I typically design and check my work with Firefox... get everything laid out, then check it in IE and have to use some work a rounds to get it to display correctly there. It is frustrating because IE doesn't follow all the standards set forth by the W3C, yet so many people use it as their primary browser. I am far and away from being a CSS guru, so take my recommendations and experiences with a grain of salt. If you would like to learn more about CSS, I highly recommend picking up the following books: Web Standards Solutions by Dan Cederholm (certainly the most helpful and my favorite) Eric Meyer on CSS by Eric Meyer More Eric Meyer on CSS by Eric Meyer CSS Pocket Reference by Eric Meyer (O'Riley book) I taught myself most everything I know by using these books.
