My processor is Echo... http://www.echo-inc.com Been using them for at least 7 years now. Started out with a small volume of sales that I processed by hand through their gateway. Now we process thousands of transactions a month and they're virtually all on-line and real-time. The last time I checked, their set-up fee was $99 and the process to open an account was pretty simple. As a MOTO (Mail order / Telephone Order) account I get charged $10/ month for a service fee. For all transactions, I pay 20 cent per transaction. For Visa and Mastercard transactions, they hit me for 2.75% discount off the gross sales. I pay no discount for American Express transactions, but Amex charges me just $5/month since my amex volume is under $5K/month. They have a web gateway for manual charges and they have an https API for immediate transactions. For example, I keep all my client info in a webDNA database. At a certain time each day I press on click on my custom developed webadmin screen and a webDNA script goes through the database hunting for clients who should be charged their monthly charge today. The script makes an https connection to echo's API, gets a result and parses it. The have their own FDIC bank. The net amount from each approved transaction is deposited in my account at their bank on the 2nd business day after the transaction. (i.e., any approved transactions that I process up to 3am Eastern time -- midnight their time -- are deposited in my bank account as cash and available to me first thing Thursday morning.) Echo also has an optional service they call "Merchant America" which costs $14.95 and is basically a shopping cart system with hooks to their processing engine. ~joe ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
