It keeps the original formatting.

interpreted = N
texte = It doesn't even require that much use of the [raw] tag. You can just look at the Java code in the header and use [raw] to protect any situations where Java uses square brackets. In Java, this is usually only used for counters or array references (product[3] type stuff). You can usually just protect the individual square-bracketed stuff with [raw], so there's actually not that much to it. I have also used Dreamweaver to make some behavior I'm looking for on a single item. Then I take the Java and HTML it creates and use WebDNA to replicate what it needs to to make the contents of the page dynamic while keeping the cool Java effects. That works surprisingly well. Remember that in the end, WebDNA controls absolutely every character being delivered on the resulting page. That means that it can modify and make the Java code just as dynamic as the HTML. If the Java references a specific item in the HTML document, you can replace the item reference with a WebDNA tag, and then use WebDNA to replicate the HTML so that repeated copies of different items can all call the same Java function in the header. The whole thing sounds complicated, but it's really not. Just don't be afraid to experiment with everything on a page.
