texte = Maybe it's the ice storm; maybe it's the rush to finish so that I can get the server to the ISP; maybe....anyway, bad day today...um, yesterday (it's after midnite I see). Help sought for the following so I can see how this all works once I'm hooked up at the ISP!!! (Apologies in advance for the length of the post....)* FIRST, MEMORY -- noticed slowness, pages not being found, and then the message Netscape unable to create a network socket. There may be insufficient system resources or the network may be down (etc.) Didn't see anything obvious wrong, but I upped the memory for WebCatalog to 3000 (Preferred Size), and the hiccups seemed to have stopped. Vital stats:* PPC 6100 w/ 40 meg RAM * OS 8.0 (8.4 Mb) * W* 2.1 (6.8 Mb) * W* 2.1 SSL (2.9 Mb) * WebCatalog acgi (3.0 Mb) * Timbuktu (1.5 Mb) also Keep It Up, Okey Dokey, AutobootSo, am running approx. 21.6 Mb RAM out of 40 avaibable, so shouldn't be a problem there. Am I out of the woods by bumping up WebCatalog memory? Or should I be looking at some other things as well?* SECOND, GLOBALS -- after restarting with everything running to do a final check, I discovered that most of my Globals (called using [Include file=global/whatever.inc] no longer were working. Most..but not all. I opened and resaved all the files...but no change. What the #!?*! is going on with that??? Help!!!* THIRD, CACHE -- I think I have both Web* and WebCatalog cacheing files right now. I've got to simplify. How do folks choose? Should we turn off Web* cache plug-in and use only WebCatalog? What if we want to cache images as well as templates?* LAST, BROWSER INFO.TXT -- still haven't heard from anyone on this (names for new IE browsers). The online documentation and my printed version say that the old IE 2.0 goes by Mozill 1.2...what about IE 3.* and 4.*Thanks in advance...(please make my weekend bearable),Dale dstokdyk@dvs.mv.com Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
