texte = For testing purposes, you should try and run the command you want as the userthat WebCat is using. In this example, su # to rootthen su www # to www userand try your command. If that doesn't works, you can also try placing thecommand you want inside a shell script and run the script. If that doesn'twork, try changing the owner of the script to some user who can run the programand then SUID the script, like this: chmod +s scriptnameThis will run the script with the rights that the owner of the script has (youmust be root to run this).HTHJohn Peacock____________________Reply Separator____________________Subject: Re: [shell]? (WebCatalog Talk)Date: 3/22/00 11:50 AMIt turns out that WebCatalog is running as www user.I gave www tsch as a shell, and appropriate permissions. Still nothing.I'm using BBEdit to edit the file directly from the server, and it's set touse Unix linebreaks.the whois command works, so I know SOMETHING is working.Guess I'll HAVE to do it in perl. Bummer. I always said that there wasntanything in perl that I couldn't do with WebCAT...guess I was wrong. -Doug-- ----------- Silver Creek Ltd. ------------------------------------------------------------[ Douglas Hardman | doug@silvercreek.net ][ 330-630-4487 | http://www.silvercreek.net ]-------------------------------------------------------------- Web Solutions -------------> From: Peter Ostry > Reply-To: (WebCatalog Talk)> Date: Wed, 22 Mar 2000 17:31:18> To: (WebCatalog Talk)> Subject: Re: [shell]?> > Not every user can access every command in his shell.
