texte = Hi folks,The issue I would appreciate some help with is spacing being added to the of a document, containing WebDNA, after being parsed.I have noticed this happening before in others code as well, but didn'tthink much of it till now. I have a template that has a good deal of WebDNAcode (The head tags contain about 1300 lines). It sits at about 78K, butafter parsing, it is received by the browser at between 330K and 375K (itactually fluctuates). At this size, some browsers start burping.Viewing source shows the ending pushed way (and I do mean *waaaay*)down the page, by phantom spaces.I started by removing the majority of the code and returning block by blockto try to determine what was adding all that space, but soon found that eachblock added a little space to the server product. It appears to be anaggregate rather than one rotten block, and further appears to be comingfrom spacing and tabbing between tags and blocks (at least in part, it couldbe something else as well). We have converted all space bar spacing to tabs. This saved about 3K (hardlymakes a dent). Interestingly enough, the phantom data in the viewsource code are all spaces (not tabs).I tried removing all spaces/tabs from some of the code, and it may have madesome difference, but there's so much left with spaces, it's hard to tell.Does anyone know what actually is taking place? Is this just WebCat overhead?Any techniques to beat it?Thanks for you help!Jon__________________________Jon RobinsonChakra5 studioshttp://www.chakra5.netjon@chakra5.net(206) 781-0140 (o)(206) 228-0451 (c)-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
