All I know is that when you register the software, there are checkboxes for Notify me about special offers from Smith Micro and Notify Me about special offers from Smith Micro partners. That is what I meant when I said If you don't want to receive such e-mails, you can select that option when you register the product. Note that I said When you register the product. I have no information about what happens afterward. My other point was that I often see that the company did this or Smith Micro did that. Development and Sales are two different departments, with their own department heads, etc. Paul wrote earlier that he was being spammed from a trusted source on an unrelated topic when I can get NO answer on questions from $M$I on important things such as when I can expect a version of Webcat to run with WebStar V ..... The e-mail blasts and development are two different things, handled by two different departments. It's apples and oranges. The e-mail blasts and product releases are not handled by the same people, so to equate the two makes no sense.I hope that makes my points clear. I think that this thread should end now.-----Original Message----- From: Dale Therio [mailto:stuff@colony.net] Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2001 10:22 PM To: Webcatalog Talk List Subject: Re: OT - SMSI complaint *This message was transferred with a trial version of CommuniGate(tm) Pro* Unfortunately John the sales department doesn't honor requests to stop SPAMMING.I have been spammed for 2 years by sales and a co-worker that has never purchased the software, only downloaded the demo, also gets spammed all the time from sales.DaleOn Thu, 15 Nov 2001 15:50:48 -0800 John Sweeney wrote: >The e-mail blasts are done by Marketing, and the development, >by, >interestingly enough, ISD Development.
