texte = Robert and John -Thank you both so much for opening my eyes to this possibility. A differentway of thinking for me, to be sure.I've never done anything like this where I would need to post, retrieve andsummarize information from so many different sources though.Let me give it a shot:A company comes a long and sponsors a Gold Package for Movie 1, Theatre 1Day 1. So they get 20 tickets for themselves or customers they want totreat, etc.The filmfest personnel go to the package db and enter 1 gold package forthe First showing of The Frustrated Programmer on Thursday at 4 PM.When they hit submit, several things happen:1) The package purchased is stored in the packages.db2) The available seats for that show is diminished accordingly in theschedule.db and total seats available for that show is automatically updated3) What do I do with all the other databases?I guess I need to know what a typical flow of events would be with a systemlike this. Do I need some kind of field to tie them together? John, I nevereven thought I could have multiple entries with the same SKU. How dosummaries work on something like that? I mean, if I have 3 entries with thesame SKU representing 60 tickets sold (20 each)...how will I get that out ofthe database? I really appreciate your guidance.-- Patrick Junkroski > > Multiple tables should make this much easier:> -------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
