numero = 44176

texte = Alain,I actually looked into moving down to NZ about a year ago, just for that very sort of thing...it occurred to me that if I retained my US clients and charged NZ prices (or slightly higher) coupled with the lack of NZ internet laws which would allow me to do things like 'strip' a website of data 'legally', rather than go through the time/expense of getting the data through other more costly 'legitimate' channels and the low cost of living in NZ, then, in theory, I would be able to live like a king.So I checked into immigration, etc. and found that in order to be seriously considered for citizenship I would need to either a) provide a job offer from a NZ company or b) demonstrate that my own biz would be significant enough to benefit the NZ economy, which, unfortunately it isn't (but i'm working on it!). So, I did some searching and applied for a few jobs out there and was told--you guessed it, I needed to live in NZ. Quite the catch-22.I know I could apply for and get a 2 month work visa, but the costs of travel, etc. vs. the risk of falling on my face just don't equate as do-able at this point...Ok, story time's over. Back to your regularly scheduled US copyright law debate. I just wanted to basically say that I sort of envy the position you're in...but the grass is always greener, no? :)-Dan ------------------------------------------- http://www.StrongGraphicDesign.com (208) 319-0137 | Toll-free p/f 877-561-1656On Fri, 18 Oct 2002 10:04:35 +1300 Alain Russell wrote: >I've officially resigned from this thread .. > >I've said my piece.
