After paying $2000.00 to go from 3.x to a crap 4.x version that did not work for 2 years, there is no way I will pay such a ridiculous amount and then lose the unlimited domain license I have already overpaid for,And with the piss poor support that was offered on the 3.x to 4.x upgrade fiasco, I can't feel comfortable with this upgrade going better (even though the support has improved a great deal since then on the list, but no idea as to phone support).I realize a company needs to make a *reasonable* amount on their software, but screwing over your existing customer is not the way to go. While your new marketing may get you new customers, remember the adage that it takes 10 times as much to get a new customer as it does to keep an existing one. Your pricing seems to assume that you have lost all of your current customers and will have to replace them all with new ones.RegardsDaleOn Saturday, February 15, 2003, at 12:21 PM, Alex McCombie wrote:> On 2/15/03 11:54 AM, Doug Deck wrote: > >> While a good pricing structure to provide a low cost of entry and >> attract >> new developers, it would seem that we underestimated the effect on >> some of >> our current developers.
