texte = FYI... Recently I tried to get WebDNA to process files on another drive (d:\...) but had no luck. Also, WebDNA has special processing for the root folder / symbol (although under Windows it is annoyingly handled incorrectly). I doubt it will work with UNC names.-Chris-----Original Message----- From: John Peacock [mailto:jpeacock@rowman.com] Sent: Monday, March 31, 2003 12:32 PM To: WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com Subject: RFE: UNC path support in WebDNA 5.0 I am in the midst of setting up a new server, and I would very much like to store my web site files on a Network Attached Storage device (networked hard-drive). I find that although WebDNA 5.0 is correctly handed the filename by the web server, WebDNA is not able to open the template. I suspect this is because of the forward slash '/' vs backslash '\' issue with filepaths underNT/2k. There are system calls to translate the unix-style filename to NT-style filename prior to access, so this should not be a difficult task.I am aware of both the security concerns and the necessity to run the dbserver.exe service under a specially designed domain account in order to access the files properly. I can discuss this topic in more detail if/when an engineer is assigned to the project.John-- John Peacock Director of Information Research and Technology Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group 4501 Forbes Boulevard Suite H Lanham, MD 20706 301-459-3366 x.5010 fax 301-429-5748 ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
