texte = Hi Tana,My understanding is that what you are trying to do can not be done withonline transactions. When you send back the original Auth Code, Pay Flo orAuth Net is only looking for that code which tells it to go ahead with theAuthorized Amount. The only option is to go through with the transactionand issue a credit. They probably do it this way so they can charge youanother transaction fee. Also, you might want to keep in mind that if yourorder is not shipped within, I think 3 or 4 days from the original capture, your visa/mastercard rate will in most cases go up by 1% so if your rate is2.5%, these transactions will be 3.5%, add in the free shipping you arededucting, and this order becomes less profitable.I hope this helps,Salvatore D'AnnaSales EngineerSmith Micro Software(949)360-8587-----Original Message-----From: Tana [mailto:tana@volleyhut.com]Sent: Sunday, April 06, 2003 8:05 AMTo: WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.comSubject: PayFlow Pro - Changing the Amount that was AuthorizedI know this is probably a longshot, but thought I'd take a chance to see ifanyone out there has encountered this problem. I was wondering if anyonethat is using PayFlow Pro (Verisign) has been successful at lowering theamount charged on the card while using the same authorization code. This iswhat we're trying to do:1) Order is booked, authorization code received and orderfile located inpending2) Shipping charge removed (for example) lowering the total amount3) Order shipped4) Card charged for the lower amountWhat's happening is that the new charge amount is being sent out correctlyfrom our side. But Verisign is still charging the original authorizedamount. I've spoken with a number of people at Verisign -- all telling mesomething different. Bottom line is, it seems that a different variableshould be sent through telling them to change the amount.Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Tana-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
